Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed the head of the the agency responsible for his protection after two of its officers were detained over an alleged assassination plot against him

Zelensky has fired Major General Sergey Rud, the head of the state guard service over an alleged plot to assassinate him. The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) announced Tuesday, that two other officers were allegedly part of a conspiracy to assassinate Zelensky. The detained colonels, were discovered working for Russia's Security Service (FSB), leaking classified information to Moscow. The SBU had suspicions about one of the two officers Andrey Guk, and a second officer with a last name of Derkach, but Rud was shielding them from persecution. It was later at about the same time as President Putin's inauguration, that the alleged plot to target Zelensky was made.
